Summary: For many medical office professionals, their careers are not just a job but a calling—a passion that drives them to go above and beyond in service to their physician leadership, organization, and their teams. While this dedication is admirable, it can sometimes lead to an unhealthy attachment to work, bordering on workaholism.
This presentation will focus on the ways in which the demanding nature of the medical office profession can lead to burnout, stress, addiction, and mental health issues. It will also address how the stigma surrounding vulnerability in the workplace often leaves these professionals without the support they need. Through real-life stories, data, and expert perspectives, we will highlight how the high-stakes environment of working in a medical office can result in both personal affliction and professional addiction, including substance abuse, workaholism, and emotional exhaustion.
The attendees will delve into the unique challenges faced by medical office professionals who, despite their deep passion for their work, may struggle with setting boundaries, managing stress, and finding balance between their professional and personal lives.
