Title:     Through the Glass Window – Looking at Things from the Other Side of the Glass

What is it like to be behind the window at a doctor's office?  What are some of the unique challenges of working the front desk?  Conversely, what is it like to be that patient who is waiting for that glass window to slide open, to be greeted and to be asked questions, sometimes seemingly in a foreign language? (aka "medical speak")

Looking from the other side of the desk at situations truly gives one a different perspective.  Seeing questions and situations with someone else’s eyes can change your approach to how you interact with patients.  It can also take the monotony and perhaps some stress out of your daily duties and might even put a smile on your face at the end of the day.

Join us for this engaging conversation about perspective and challenges.  Ms. Young will walk us through some of the common scenarios medical offices have, from both sides of that glass window.  From the greeting of patients until they check out when their visit is complete.  Working with differing insurances including advantage plans, prior authorizations and making referral appointments are all topics for this dialog about the front office environment.  What can be done to improve both employee and patient satisfaction? Her hope is you will walk away with new ideas to take back to your practice.
