Priority Health: Introducing a new PIP program for 2023 search news

October 25, 2022

It’s been our priority for more than 25 years to reward the high-quality care you provide our members through our PCP Incentive Program (PIP). We’re excited to usher in opportunities for you to earn incentive payments more frequently throughout the year through our 2023 PIP program.

A whole new PIP

We’ve redesigned and rebuilt the PIP program from top to bottom for 2023. Starting in January, you’ll:

  • Engage more deeply in specific measures
  • Get more targeted data
  • Receive incentive payments both quarterly and at year-end

What this looks like in action

Our 2023 PIP program will include three components:

ComponentBrief descriptionPaymentPush MeasuresSpecific quality performance measures which you’ll complete each quarter. Measures and targets to be announced quarterly. Announcements will be made 30 days in advance of the Push Measure.

35% of PIP budget

Paid quarterly

Quality Index ScoreTiered incentive payment determined by your composite quality score throughout the program year on a subset of HEDIS® measures.

40% of PIP budget

Paid at

year-end settlement

Transformation MeasuresBehavioral Health Collaborative Care (BHCC), Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Information Exchange Participation with MiHIN.

25% of PIP budget

Paid at

year-end settlement

From January to December, you’ll earn incentive dollars for your performance in both the Quality Index Score and Transformation Measures.

On top of this, each quarter, we’ll announce Push Measures for that quarter – opportunities to double down on specific measures to earn additional incentive dollars.

Measures retired from PIP

While announcements on what will be included in our Push Measures are forthcoming, we can tell you the following measures will not be part of the 2023 PIP program:

  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
  • Health Risk Assessment (HRA)

We’ll be offering the HRA incentive opportunity outside of PIP next year and will share details soon.

Review the preliminary manual

I encourage you to spend some time with our Preliminary 2023 PIP Manual and to let me know if you have any questions.

As your partner in providing high-quality care, we truly value the work you do to keep our members healthy. Thank you for all you do.
