HealthSCOPE Benefits (HSB) is the Benefits Administrator for Whirlpool Corporation medical plan participants. We wanted to make sure you and your billing teams were aware that effective October 1, 2019, the PPO provider network for the Whirlpool Corporate members will change to the United Healthcare Choice Plus Network. In addition, Whirlpool plan members will continue to have in-network access to all of the Lakeland Care Network providers as they have had in the past.
- Due to this network change, HSB will be issuing new member ID cards at the end of September 2019. (See attached example of the new ID card)
- Please note that the claims submission address has not changed. HSB will remain the TPA for Whirlpool, and claims will continue to be sent to HSB, so nothing changes there.
- Healthscope will also be keeping the current Whirlpool authorization requirements, so it would be the same as before the network change. Auth requirements are based on Whirlpool’s benefit plan, not UMR or UHC standards at this time. The ID card still shows to call HSB at 800-660-6212.
- Regarding Lakeland Care Network mental health providers: they will continue to be in-network as they have been in the past. HealthSCOPE will have those members cared for through their programming.
