The Lakeland Medical Office Association invites you to attend our April luncheon and seminar.
Program: Communication Breakdown: Why it happens, how it hurts patients, and what we can do about it.
Effective communication is essential to providing quality medical care. Providers, care team members, and especially patients rely on information. We all know this yet despite new methods and more effort focused on communicating, crucial information is missed. We will look at litigation trends and various claim scenarios where communication created challenges. Reviewing these common issues can help you, your practice, and your organization improve patient safety, minimize medical errors, and thus, limit your exposure to malpractice claims.
Learners completing this activity will be able to:
- Identify barriers to communication in the practice of medicine
- Review claim scenarios involving communication breakdowns
- Apply practical techniques to reduce professional liability risks and increase patient safety
