Effective April 2018, individuals age 21 and older who have incomes above 100% of the Federal Poverty Level and have been enrolled in a Healthy Michigan Plan health plan for at least one year without choosing a healthy behavior through a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) may move to the MI Marketplace Option.
- Some HMP populations are excluded; for example, the medically frail and pregnant women.
- February 2018: MDHHS notification to HMP beneficiaries affected by this change begins.
–HMP beneficiaries have 30 days to complete an HRA, attest to being medically frail or appeal their Marketplace status.
- MI Marketplace Option benefits are essential benefits only; for example, dental coverage will end.
- MDHHS draft policy is expected to be finalized by March 1, 2018 and includes a shortened HRA form and a single submission method (rather than submitting to multiple Medicaid Health Plans).
