Managing Chronic Pain and Addiction

This lecture will focus on the management strategies, in caring for the patient struggling with psychiatric illness, chronic pain, and a substance abuse disorder. The concerns associated with utilizing opioid analgesics and benzodiazepines, will be emphasized, and reviewed. Become familiar with recognizing the clinical characteristics of the patient struggling with a psychogenic pain syndrome.
