The Lakeland Medical Office Association (LMOA) invites you to attend our March luncheon and meeting.
Program: Promoting Patient Safety and Reducing Risk: Real Case Lessons for Office Staff
Through the review of real cases, attendees will gain insight into specific office practices, procedures or staff service level standards that may have contributed to, or may have caused, the defense of a malpractice claim to be more difficult. This program is intended to promote thinking outside of the normal day-to-day duties, to see the bigger picture, and to understand that what goes on in the practice can affect the physician, the staff, and your patients.
- EMR – Timeliness of scanning of paper records
- Triage/Scope of practice concerns – MAs, staff
- Who is being treated? - Risks of treating staff and family
- Documentation expectations for phone triage – post emergency room visits – high risk to be “lost to follow up”
